The couple was attending a party celebrating the Broadway premiere of "Hamlet," in which Cronyn played Polonius and Richard Burton starred as Hamlet. Cronyn died of prostate cancer at his Fairfield, Connecticut home June 15, 2003. Tandy died in 1994.
